Why study this course
English Literature is a foundational subject for a range of professions which require the assimilation and analysis of large amounts of complex material. It supports students’ independent reading, research and writing skills to a high level. We read texts from a wide range of historical periods and diverse societies which also allows students to broaden their own perspectives and empathise with people from diverse backgrounds, crucial for our modern world. This one subject combines literature, history, creative writing, sociology and psychology.
